Today

Today outside my window. . .the sun is shining and I know its going to be a warm day.

I am thinking about. . . making two quilts before the end of the month.

I am thankful for. . .my husband who had to work so hard all through the weekend.

I am wearing. . . Capri shots and a tank top. (just got done with the gym)

I am reading. . .Hungry Girl 200 under 200. (Okay I know, not a book but I'm searching through my new cookbook to find great new recipes to cook this week)

I am hearing. . .Bruno in the hallway grunting and playing with some toy.

A few plans for the rest of the week. . . Start on the two quilts i need to make, drive into Las Cruces, (Joann's is having a huge sale on fabric), clean the house

I need to remember. . . That its not really as big of a deal as i think it is.

Hope you it was a good quick read. I'm going to try to post these thought on Tuesday so I start to stay somewhat consistent with my blogging. Also need to get the camera out and post a picture of a quilt i finished a week or so ago. It was the first quilt top i ever made and the first quilt i quilted with a long arm machine.

Easter Treats

When I was in elementary school, Easter lunch was the most exciting lunch all year. We would get a box lunch and then get to eat outside. Usually this resulted in some sort of food fight, a huge flock of seagulls and the slow eating enjoyment of the coveted Easter cupcake.

That all changed in 3rd grade. That year, as I was sitting out eating my box lunch, a flock of seagulls started to circle. I had learned, from past years, that when this happens, the seagulls with fly down and snatch your food. (The year before I have lost some of a sandwich due to this.)

Well, this year, as my luck would have it, they didn't snatch part of my sandwich. I got much better treat. A seagull pooped on my cupcake. I was a little sensitive and ran crying into the front office. After a few minuets the office lady eventually calmed me down but the whole day was ruined. I didn't get my Easter cupcake.

This week Steve came home form work and asked if I could make an ester treat that he could take into work. The only think i could think of was the Easter basket cupcakes that we got in elementary school. I just couldn't bring myself to make them so I made Easter nests instead.

Really the same thing but no pipe cleaner handle and they are rice krispys instead of cupcakes.

Hope they have a good Easter lunch at his office. I have not seen any seagulls down here so I think the Easter treats are safe.

Have a Happy Easter.
