I've been VERY stressed the past week or so. I have a big test coming up on Friday that I am very nervous about and will have a pretty big impact on my future. When I get this stressed all i can seem to do is quilt. Why I have no idea, something about it relaxes me. So with the stress and fall in the air this quilt was made. It's done in oranges, browns, greens and blues, all the colors of fall. It has a completely orange backing (made with a sheet), ended up being a twin size quilt and I LOVE IT!

Thinking about starting a cathedral window quilt. Today I gave it a test run. This quit is made with no batting and is a process of folding the fabric and stitching it down. Traditionally, this quilt is hand stitched but I'm a little slow in the hand quilting department. Luckily I was able to find a pattern online that you machine sew the whole thing.
Was kind of fun, should I give a big quilt a try?
p.s. I'm going to finish this into an awesome hot pat and draw a winner from all the wonderful peeps (all two of you) that leave comments!

I don't even know if he reads this but today my lovely husband turns 30! Yep that's right, hes so old now. I would try to do something cute and write 30 nice things about him but seriously, trying to think of 30 nice things, don't know if I could do it. :) So one will have to do. I Love you and Happy Birthday!

Today was a great day. Steve bought me flowers and this guy won me $100 bucks. Yes, you totally read that right. We entered Bruno in the local Halloween pet costume contest and he won! He gets the pride of being in the local paper looking silly and I get the money! Now he only needs to do that about 20 more times to pay me back for all vet bills! Whoever said dressing your pets up is stupid.

This weekend (instead of working on mid-terms, studying for the the nursing entrance exam, cleaning the house) I finished up a few quilts for Margaret's Hope Chest. This year they are trying to get enough quilts to give one to ever homeless child in the Detroit area. With the economic climate the way it is, there are a lot of kids in need this Christmas season. It's a good cause and like every quilter I had a few extra yards of fabric laying around. Also I figured that I could always use a little good karma.
I know this picture doesn't look like much, but I was so excited. I didn't have the time to hand stitch down the binding and I wanted something a bit more sturdy so I machine stitched it down. The last time I attempted this it was a horrible disaster! Years later I decided to brave it once again. And this time it looked AMAZING!
