I have been so bad with blogging! Over the past two months life has become very busy. I passed my NCLEX, got my nursing license and started working on a rehab floor. It has been crazy busy! We also went to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, took a quick trip to Utah, visited cousins and had a wonderful Halloween. Eli also keeps changing, he cut his last two teeth, learned how to roll his tongue and got another haircut. Along with all the busyness our computer crashed and so with no computer the blog was left behind. So here is a big photo dump of the past few months. Enjoy.

Our dear families have been battling freezing cold and snow this spring. We however have had the luxury of 100+ degree weather and no rain for nearly 5 months. It's hot and dry. So to keep the kid cool we play the super awesome summer game . . . bobbing for strawberries. I know you all wish you could be here to join in. (Okay, I'll stop, I'm starting to feel a little white trash.)

At the Farm

We took a trip up to Utah last week to celebrate the beginning of summer and Eli's first birthday. The best part of the trip was the visit to Thanksgiving Point. Eli was a big fan of the animals.

The donkey was pretty cool until he tried to bite Eli.

The chickens were pretty cool until they squawked.

The horse ride was pretty cool. Until we had to do it again. . .

and again in the freezing cold.

After we got back from the farm Grammie was talking to Eli. She was asking him if he had fun at the farm. He turned to her and as clear as day said, "horse." Looks like i know where we will be going when we visit Utah again.

My mom sent me a link to make Eli a new bib/apron. Super cute so of course I had to spend the afternoon making one. Eli even helped pick out the fabric.

When my brother was about a year old till the time he was six my mom did his hair "dorky." She would keep it long, put gel in it, part it to the side and then make sure that the front had a little poof. Totally 1993 and totally dorky. Last night when I was talking to her I told her how sad I was that Eli would need his first haircut soon. She said to just keep it long and do the haircut she did on Andrew. This weekend we took a trip up to Albuquerque to visit the great-grandparents and to take Eli to the aquarium. This little dude loves water and to our surprise loves fish!

Today I delivered my first newborn. It was an amazing experience. Holding that brand new baby brought back many memories. It's hard to believe that almost nine months ago a dear woman placed her sweet newborn in our arms. I have a new appreciation for the strength, love and courage she had.

This year there are more then a few people I need to thank and far more things that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for my sweet husband who deals with me day to day. I'm thankful for my dad, the man I look up to and know is always there when i need him. I'm so very grateful for my mom and putting up with all my phone calls and being there for me and Steve at moments when we couldn't have done it without her. I thankful for my grandparents who I get to see often. I am thankful for my aunt who risked a lot. I am thankful for two wonderful people (K.'s parents) who allowed Steve and I to become part of their family. But more than anything I am thankful for a wonderful woman who looked beyond herself and made a decision that has forever changed my life. She gave me the greatest gift. . . this little guy.

Eli was a chubby skeleton for his first Halloween. My sister knitted the cute hat for him and was asked multiple times where i got it. Thanks Jenn.

Eli also experienced his first candy. . a sucker. He LOVED it, became totally sticky and would not smile because it was busy baby work to eat it.

And then the quilt. Was going to be a gift but Steve fell in love. Most of the time he likes my quilts but this one he couldn't stop talking about. Go figure.

Eli's first swimming trip was a great success. There was a happy baby with no crying, looks like we will be going to the pool again.
